In January 2024, a beautiful collaboration began….
Author and Educator Karen White Porter (creator of the Emotatude Series that helps people cope with Emotions. https://emotatude.blogspot.com/) and Dr. Jaya Viswanathan teamed up to create a series of videos to introduce basic biology, sensory neuroscience, emotional processing, and neurodiversity with very very young audiences. These were released as short video reels for Brain Awareness Week 2024! Find the full set of 7 videos (and a bonus video about Brain Awareness Week) below! We hope that you and your young ones enjoy these short educational videos as much as Karen, Ada, and I enjoyed making them!

Recording from a Brain Awareness Week Neuroscience and Art Salon
To kick off Brain Awareness Week 2024, neuroscientist and artist Jaya Viswanathan and award-winning journalist Kate Woodsome (www.katewoodsome.net) led a Neuroscience and Art Salon. They engaged in an expansive conversations exploring sensory systems across the animal kingdom as well as how art and science can enhance mental health.
This was a free public discussion held as part of Brain Awareness Week, a global outreach effort supported by the Dana Foundation to foster an enthusiasm for neuroscience. The session, titled Marvels of the Mind was enjoyed by all attendees which led to vibrant discussions during the Q&A. Recording below.
